Meet our founder
Ivan Alvarez
Founder, Managing Director
Ivan Alvarez is the founder and Managing Director of Bluebird Capital. Prior to forming the company, Ivan worked for BBVA as a Corporate Investment Bank Global Subsidiaries VP. He managed a portfolio of $1.4BN in deposits and $500MM in loans for CIB clients with revenues of $3BN from Spain, Turkey, South America and Mexico operating in the USA. Prior to joining BBVA, Ivan was a Commercial banker with JP Morgan Chase. Ivan is a graduate of St. Mary’s University with a BBA in International Business and Corporate Finance and an MBA in Investment Analysis. He also holds series 7,6, and 63 investment licenses.

Chris Recondo
Managing Partner
Chris has 20 plus years of experience in corporate, private and International banking, he has very extensive experience in managing relationships as well as payments, structured deals, liquidity products in the domestic and international market. Chris worked at BBVA USA in the Corporate & Investment Banking Division/Global Transaction Banking (GTB) as a Senior Vice President/Manager based in Houston, Texas. Chris responsibilities consisted of strategy and sales of working capital solutions and liquidity management for US Corporate clients and prospects with a portfolio of $1.5BN in lines of credits and $4.0BN in deposits. In addition, he served as relationship manager for key US Global Subsidiaries specifically from Germany, Italy, France and Korea.
Chris holds a B.S. in Management from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University.
Allison Thompson
Marketing & Events Director
With over 10 years of marketing and events management experience, Allison uses her trademark skills of problem solving, creativity, and flexibility to help produce corporate events and meetings. She excels at logistics and operations, and her attention to detail means that events and meetings go smoothly from concept to completion. Allison is a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts.
